Great Douk Cave is a great beginners caving trip. It starts at the bottom of a tree-lined collapse close to the track where a small stream cascades from a passage at east end and sinks into the rubble beside a long-term cave dig.

A simple but greasy two metre climb up at the water fall gains a walking size passage. Continue for approx 800m until it lowers into a crawl, bear left at a junction, and then climb into a roof passage that leads out onto the moor at Middle Washfold entrance.
